The pike released its grip on Mikus, who started running out of the water as quickly as possible. the pike turned it's rath on Rellik, lashing around like a wip, its jaws wide open, doing its best to ignore the pain of Rellik's teeth which had sunken into his flesh. For him, it was a death lock, a bleeding pike is a dead pike, he would attract millions of scavengers, the only thing left to do was kill the beast that brought death onto him. razor sharp teeth were poised, ready to lunge for Rellik's chest.

*Brilliant, just brilliant.* Quickly releasing her hold, Rellik swam for shore, putting as much distance between herself and the raging fish as possible. Alread there were little scavengers attaching themselves to the pike's body, attracted by the scent of blood. *Oh good, saves me the trouble!* Rellik pulled herself up and out of the water, shook the droplets out of her fur, and turned to the humans again. The idiots were still milling around their dead companions, few were paying the wolves any attention now. "Okay, since that didn't go well, we're getting the heck outta here, now!"

The pike writhed in the water, the scavengers hitching themselves onto him, and gorging hungrily.
Mikus panted as they dashed through the woods, back to the pack, "Th-thankyou, rellik," he gasped, "follow me, I know the way..." but thenhe noticed that Rellik was quite find on her own, striding ahead of him.

Rellik paused and wited for Mikus to catch up. "Maybe we ought to find a hiding place first, let you catch your breadth and throw those humans off trail. Come on, there has to be a suitable cave around here somewhere." Sniffing at underbrushes and around thick tree trunks, Rellik made herself busy looking for a temporary hideout that would be thick or dense enough to cover their tracks. *Perfect!* Squirming through tangles of roots, the fae made herself comfortable in the deep hollow beneath the slightly uprooted tree, poking her head out to call Mikus over. "Come on, over here! This ought to serve its purpose for a bit."
Ren nodded sympatetically. "It must be one or the other but, it doesn't seem too dangerous whatever it is." The amber wolf turned to look at the blue haze in the summer sky. It was getting darker but, by so little you would think the new shade was only the result of your imagination. The trees began to cast long shadow that stretched infintively almost in either direction and she could smell a sharp bitterness in the wind and sneezed.
